DISTRICT INDUSTRIES CENTRE

The District Industries Centre implements various Centrally and State Sponsored scheme for the youths who are educated unemployed for generating employment to them.It also promotes for starting small scale and large scale industries.

The major schemes being implemented by the DIC, Gadchiroli are as follows;

  • Prime Minister Rojgar Yojna

  • Revised Seed Money Scheme( Financial help to Educated Un-employed)

  • DIC Loan Scheme for Rural Artisans

  • Entrepreneurs Development Training Programme.

  • District Award.

Also it implements following schemes;

  • New Units Certificate for Stamp Dety Exemption

  • MSMED Act. Acknowledgement

  • District Award Scheme

In the field of industrialization, the progress of Gadchiroli district is very poor. Most of the area of Gadchiroli district is covered with the forest and do not have rail link. Thus, due to the Forest Conservation act, particularly Zudpi Jungle problem, transportation and Naxal activities in the district, Industrial Developments for both Small Scale Sector and Medium Industries has not taken place.

Economy is wholly Agriculture & Forest labor based. There is absence of Forest based industries also. The tribals and scheduled caste sectors continue to suffer from poor economic conditions and hence are always prone to disasters caused by floods, heavy rains and health problems.

The heighlights about the idustrilisation in the district; are given below.

      • MIDC at Gadchiroli is smallest Industrial Estate of Vidarbha Region. Some of smallest industrial units such as Rice Mill, Confectionary, Still Furniture, Coal Briquates, Oil Mill, Bakery, Ice-Cream, seed processing, D.P. Prepartion Works, Furniture, Paints, Mozaic Tiles are set up here and are working.

      • Ballarpur Paper Industries Limited has set up it's unit at Ashti in Chamorshi taluka and is 80 Km away from Gadchiroli.

      • Recently, M/s Jejani Paper Pulp Industry has started working at Desaiganj.

      • Government has proposed to setup new MIDC at Dhanora, Ashti, and Kurkheda

      • New MIDC has setup at Aheri

      • Total permnent registered small scale units in the district are 350.
